Run for the Roses
May 7 marked the 137th running of the Kentucky Derby, the first leg of the Triple Crown. People come from all over the world to watch and participate in this annual race. The Derby is also called the “Run for the Roses” because the winner of the race is awarded with a garland of roses that consists of over 400 roses.
